Quarter-Finals Round 5: Spartak SP - Burevestnik 73-55

Spartak SP held off Burevestnik in the decider and sealed their semifinal appearance. Spartak St.Petersburg dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Burevestnik's 16. 24 personal fouls committed by Burevestnik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Alexandr Varnakov (185-92) stepped up and scored 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Ivan Savelyev (190-87) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Latvian power forward Artjoms Butjankovs (205-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Jimmy Gavin (191-91, college: Winthrop) scored 15 points. Burevestnik's coach Mikhail Terekhov rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win.
