Regular Season Round 32: Wels - UBSC Graz 100-78
Date: April 6, 2019
Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (17-15) rolled over at home 9th ranked UBSC Graz (9-23) 100-78. It looked good early as UBSC Graz took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Raiffeisen Flyers Wels had a 30-21 second period charge getting the lead and UBSC Graz was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-100. They outrebounded UBSC Graz 35-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Kosovan-American guard Jaren Sina (188-94, college: GWU) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels' coach Sebastian Waser felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian center Mihailo Todorovic (210-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and American Keevin Tyus (196-92, college: Lee) scored 25 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels maintains fifth position with 17-15 record. UBSC Graz lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 23 games lost. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will play against Arkadia Lions (#6) in Traiskirchen in the next round. UBSC Graz will play at home against Hallmann and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
