Regular Season Round 28: Westerstede - Vechta II 65-90

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Vechta-2 (14-12) smashed on the road 14th ranked Westerstede (7-21) 90-65 on Saturday. Vechta-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Westerstede's 36. They outrebounded Westerstede 50-38 including 35 on the defensive glass. Vechta-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Tim Insinger (205-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds and center Malte Giljan (205-95) who added 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Vechta-2's coach Hanno Stein felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Croatian-Bosnian power forward Sandro Antunovic (207-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Franjo Borchers (190-93) produced a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vechta-2 maintains sixth position in North with 14-12 record. Westerstede lost fourteenth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 21 games lost. Vechta-2 will face league's second-placed Goetting.ASC in Goettingen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
