Second Stage Round 6: KDPU - Ternopil-TNEU 85-90

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kryvyi Rih. Third ranked Ternopil-TNEU faced 4th ranked KDPU. Guests from Ternopil (14-4) defeated host KDPU (8-10) 90-85. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 29-23 KDPU's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 90-85 at the end of the game. Ternopil-TNEU dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to KDPU's 28. They outrebounded KDPU 40-25 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ternopil-TNEU players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for guard Mykyta Naiko (197-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Maxym Vorobjov (193-91) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Yevgeniy Sergeichik (-94) replied with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Artem Vodolaztcky (197-92) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for KDPU. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ternopil-TNEU have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. KDPU at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Khimik-2. Ternopil-TNEU will play against league's leader Prometey in Kamianske in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KDPU will play on the road against Rivne-OSHVSM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
