No shocking result in a game in Kaunas where second ranked Perkunas (18-3) smashed 7th ranked Panevezio (11-11) 114-75 on Tuesday. Perkunas dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Panevezio's 48. They outrebounded Panevezio 57-40 including a 42-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Perkunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Panevezio's players. The best player for the winners was forward Gabrielius Celka (197-1) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Henrikas Alekna (194-1) chipped in 27 points and 8 rebounds. Four Perkunas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Mantas Rubstavicius (190-2) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Benas Navikas (-1) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Panevezio's coach Viktoras Apinys gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Perkunas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-3 record having just one point less than leader Vilniaus Silputa. Panevezio at the other side keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. Perkunas will face again Panevezio (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
