An interesting game for Levski Lukoil (20-2) which hosted in Sofia 4th ranked Academik Plovdiv (10-11). First ranked Levski Lukoil had an easy win 100-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Academik Plovdiv. Levski Lukoil looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Academik Plovdiv's players. It was a good game for the former international power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Hristo Zahariev (199-90) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Troy Franklin (183-89, college: Coppin St.) replied with 22 points and Serbian center Nikola Vujovic (210-93) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Academik Plovdiv. Five Levski Lukoil and four Academik Plovdiv players scored in double figures. Academik Plovdiv's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Levski Lukoil have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 20-2 record. Academik Plovdiv at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Levski Lukoil are looking forward to face Rilski (#4) in Samokov in the next round. Academik Plovdiv will play at home against Spartak Pleven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
