Very expected game when 8th ranked Timberwolves (12-21) were crushed on the road by third ranked Gunners Oberwart (24-9) 97-78 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gunners Oberwart led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Hayden Lescault (196-92, college: Point Loma) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. British center Chris Tawiah (207-93, college: Wiley) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Italian swingman Joe Scott (192-88, college: St.Thomas) who recorded 24 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Gunners Oberwart. They moved-up to second place. Timberwolves lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the eighth position with 21 games lost. Gunners Oberwart will meet league's leader Kapfenberg Bulls on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Timberwolves will play against Gmunden Swans (#3) and hope to secure a win.
