Second Stage Round 8: Ternopil-TNEU - Prometey 82-79

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Prometey (18-2) on the court of second ranked Ternopil-TNEU on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Ternopil-TNEU 82-79. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Prometey. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Prometey trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 29-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-82 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Prometey 46-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Ternopil-TNEU looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Prometey helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Prometey at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top place with two games lost. Ternopil-TNEU are looking forward to face Mariupol (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Prometey will play against Lutsk Univ. (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
