The game in Mariupol supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Rivne-OSHVSM (16-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Mariupol (6-18). Rivne-OSHVSM smashed Mariupol 96-69 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-69. Rivne-OSHVSM dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Mariupol's 32. Rivne-OSHVSM forced 20 Mariupol turnovers. The best player for the winners was Illia Niemtsu (201-98, college: Vincennes Univ., agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Nazar Kisilchuk (195-97) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Rivne-OSHVSM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Bogdan Yasinenko (203-95, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Roman Bey (191-95) added 15 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rivne-OSHVSM maintains third position with 16-8 record having just 38 point less than leader Prometey. Loser Mariupol keeps the seventh place with 18 games lost. Rivne-OSHVSM will meet at home league's leader Prometey in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mariupol will play against Khimik-2 (#4) in Yuzhny and hope to secure a win.
