Regular Season Round 31: Vechta - Crailsheim 95-92

Seventeenth-ranked Crailsheim Merlins (7-24) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked SC Rasta Vechta (23-8) on Tuesday. SC Rasta Vechta managed to secure only three-point victory 95-92. However their fans expected much easier game. SC Rasta Vechta looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard TJ Bray (196-92, college: Princeton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists. Power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four SC Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: GCU) responded with 15 points and 8 assists and guard Michael Cuffee (195-83, college: MTSU) scored 18 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for SC Rasta Vechta. Newly promoted SC Rasta Vechta maintains fourth place with 23-8 record. Crailsheim Merlins lost their sixth game in a row. Crailsheim Merlins at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the seventeenth position with 24 games lost. SC Rasta Vechta will meet EnBW Ludwigsburg (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Crailsheim Merlins will play against BG Goettingen (#14) and hope to secure a win.
