Regular Season Round 35: Dzukija - Juventus 91-94

The most exciting game of round 35 in the LKL took place in Alytus. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Dzukija (12-22) to sixth ranked Juventus (15-21) 94-91 in the game for the sixth place. Dzukija was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 30-26 charge of Juventus, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Juventus looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Martinas Geben (208-94, college: Notre Dame) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Center Karolis Guscikas (205-92, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. American guard Elijah Brown (193-95, college: Oregon) produced 36 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Turkish forward Kerem Kanter (208-95, college: Xavier) added 21 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Juventus maintains sixth place with 15-21 record. Dzukija at the other side keeps the seventh position with 22 games lost. They share it with Prienu Skycop. Juventus will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dzukija will play on the road against the league's leader Zalgiris (#1) in Kaunas and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
