Regular Season Round 29: Buyukcekmece - Galatasaray 65-86

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Buyukcekmece (8-19) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Galatasaray (17-9) 86-65 on Saturday. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Ayberk Olmaz (210-96) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Croatian power forward Marko Arapovic (207-96) chipped in 13 points. Coach Ertugrul Erdogan's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The former international Berkay Candan (205-93) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and Cameroonian power forward Franck Yangue (205-90) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Galatasaray. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Buyukcekmece keeps the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Galatasaray will face Gaziantep (#5) at home in the next round. Buyukcekmece will play against Darussafaka (#10) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
