Second Stage Round 13: Ternopil-TNEU - KDPU 106-108

The most exciting game of round 13 in the Higher League took place in Ternopil. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Ternopil-TNEU (17-8) to fifth ranked KDPU (12-12) 108-106 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 30-26 charge, which allowed them to win the game. KDPU forced 20 Ternopil-TNEU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Ternopil-TNEU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Yevgeniy Sergeichik (-94) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 7 assists and 6 steals. Power forward Artem Vodolaztcky (197-92) contributed with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Maxim Nikitin (201-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and guard Vladyslav Ryzhov (190-94) added 18 points and 9 assists in the effort for Ternopil-TNEU. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ternopil-TNEU's coach Dmitry Zabirchenko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. KDPU have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Khimik-2. Ternopil-TNEU lost third consecutive game. Ternopil-TNEU at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second position with eight games lost. KDPU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ternopil-TNEU will play again at home against KDPU and is hoping to win this game.
