An interesting game for Zalgiris (32-3) which hosted in Kaunas second-best Neptunas (28-8). First ranked Zalgiris managed to get a 10-point victory 90-80. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Neptunas. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Neptunas managed to win fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Zalgiris forced 19 Neptunas turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Neptunas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international Marius Grigonis (198-94) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 assists. American center Brandon Davies (208-91, college: BYU, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-93) replied with 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and international power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Neptunas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 32-3 record. Neptunas at the other side keeps the second place with eight games lost.
