Second Stage Round 16: KDPU - Rivne 85-107

The game in Kryvyi Rih supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Rivne-OSHVSM (17-11) played at the court of 5th ranked KDPU (13-14). Rivne-OSHVSM smashed KDPU 107-85. It looked good early as KDPU took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rivne-OSHVSM had a 34-25 second period charge getting the lead and KDPU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 85-107. Rivne-OSHVSM dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to KDPU's 48. They outrebounded KDPU 53-23 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rivne-OSHVSM players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Oleksandr Shepelev (201-94) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Illia Niemtsu (201-98, college: Vincennes Univ., agency: Dynamics Global Management) who added 25 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Rivne-OSHVSM's coach Mikhail Pereverziy felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side power forward Artem Vodolaztcky (197-92) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Vladyslav Frolov (202-98) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Rivne-OSHVSM and five KDPU players scored in double figures. Rivne-OSHVSM maintains third position with 17-11 record having just 43 point less than leader Prometey. Newly promoted KDPU dropped to the fourth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Khimik-2.
