Another exciting game was played in Allmendingen between MLP Academics Heidelberg and Ehingen/Urspringschule where MLP Academics Heidelberg (1-0) beat Ehingen/Urspringschule (0-1) on the road 79-72. MLP Academics Heidelberg made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Shyron Ely (193-87, college: Evansville, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Stephon Jelks (198-96, college: Mercer) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. MLP Academics Heidelberg's coach Branislav Ignjatovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Tim Hasbargen (194-96, college: Babson) answered with 15 points and 4 assists and American guard Dan Monteroso (191-94, college: West Liberty) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ehingen/Urspringschule. Four Ehingen/Urspringschule players scored in double figures. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against Uni Baskets (#9) in Paderborn in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play on the road against Science City Jena to get more than just one victory in their record.
