HAKRO Merlins II used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Langen 90-67 on Saturday night. HAKRO Merlins II made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. American point guard Trevon Evans (183-95, college: Sioux Falls) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian point guard Vladan Lazic (190-1) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) during the contest. Four HAKRO Merlins II players scored in double figures. American forward Christopher Edward (201, college: Concordia, OR) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and forward Ruben Spoden (202-89) scored 18 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. HAKRO Merlins II will face Idstein (#4) on the road in the next round. TV Langen will play against Giessen Pointers (#2) and hope to win that game.
