Regular Season Round 1: Kyiv Basket - Frankivsk 86-49

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Frankivsk (0-1) on the court of Kyiv Basket on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Kyiv Basket 86-49. The game without a history. Kyiv Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kyiv Basket forced 28 Frankivsk turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Veronika Liubinets (188-99) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman Krystyna Filevich (182-91) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. Kyiv Basket's coach Volodimir Kholopov felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Daryna Dubrovska (190-99) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and forward Anna Gvichiani (168-99) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Frankivsk. Kyiv Basket are looking forward to face Interkhim in Odessa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Frankivsk will play on the road against Dynamo-NPU (#3) in Kyiv and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
