Regular Season Round 3: Rosenheim - Regnitztal 91-53

There was a surprise result when Rosenheim (1-4) outleveled at home Regnitztal (4-1) 91-53 on Saturday. Rosenheim dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Regnitztal's 28. Rosenheim forced 20 Regnitztal turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Regnitztal's players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Georgian-Spanish center Temur Kiknadze (205-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Rosenheim players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Miles Osei (197-2) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and Jannis Sonnefeld (204-2) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rosenheim will face Treuchtlingen (#3) in Treutchlingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Regnitztal will play on the road against TSV Troester in Breitenguessbach and hope to win that game.
