Regular Season Round 3: Grevenbroich - Deutzer 77-70

There was a minor upset when Deutzer (2-5) was defeated on the road by Grevenbroich (2-5) 77-70 on Saturday. Grevenbroich outrebounded Deutzer 38-19 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jahad Thomas (188-95, college: UMass Lowell) who scored 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized American Ryon Howard (198-84, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Anton Geretzki (204-98) who recorded 15 points and center Lennart Boner (206) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Grevenbroich will face Ibbenbueren (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
