Regular Season Round 3: Herzogenaurach - Treuchtlingen 67-86

There was no surprise when Herzogenaurach (1-3) was crushed at home by Treuchtlingen (4-1) 86-67 on Saturday. Treuchtlingen outrebounded Herzogenaurach 37-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Simon Geiselsoeder (189-91) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Stefan Schmoll (196-89) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Treuchtlingen players scored in double figures. Treuchtlingen's coach Stephen Harlander used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian point guard Vedran Nakic (184-89) who recorded 20 points and 4 assists and Austrian swingman Michael Kaiser (195-82) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Treuchtlingen will face Rosenheim (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Herzogenaurach will play against Topstar and hope to win that game.
