Regular Season Round 4: Bergedorf - Langenhagen 56-77

Everything could happen in Hamburg at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Langenhagen and 12th ranked Bergedorf had identical 1-2 record. But Bergedorf was not able to use a home court advantage and was rolled over by the opponent from Langenhagen 77-56 on Thursday night. Langenhagen outrebounded Bergedorf 45-27 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for center Marcel Schwarz (203-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Devon Moore (193-89, college: JMU) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Langenhagen players scored in double figures. Langenhagen's coach Benjamin Travnizek felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Marvin Steinberg (200-87) replied with 11 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Florian Bunde (194-86) added 10 points in the effort for Bergedorf. Despite that victory Langenhagen went down to seventh position (North) due to points difference. Bergedorf lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. Langenhagen will face higher ranked Neustadt TSV (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bergedorf will play against Weser Baskets (#13) and hope to win that game.
