Regular Season Round 4: Regnitztal - Bamberg 85-65

Date: October 3, 2019
Very expected game when 7th ranked Bamberg (3-2) was smashed on the road by second ranked Regnitztal (4-2) 85-65 on Thursday. Regnitztal made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Bamberg turnovers and outrebounded them 32-21 including a 23-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Regnitztal especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Bamberg was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Brandon Tischler (198-0) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. Nicholas Tischler (198-0) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Regnitztal players scored in double figures. Regnitztal's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Michael Lachmann (192-89) replied with 16 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and French center Andy Rico (198-91) added 14 points in the effort for Bamberg. Despite that victory Regnitztal went down to third position (South-East) due to points difference, which they share with Ansbach and Jena II. Loser Bamberg dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Regnitztal will face FC Bayern III (#7) in Muenchen in the next round. Bamberg will play at home against Schwabing and hope to win that game.
