Regular Season Round 4: Herford - Dorsten 92-80

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Herford and one of their biggest challengers Dorsten had identical 5-2 record. This time Herford used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Dorsten 92-80 on Thursday night. Herford dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Dorsten's 34. They outrebounded Dorsten 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for American forward Derylton Hill (196-94, college: Ark.-Monticello) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Guard Omar Zemhoute (194-91) contributed with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Adam Pickett (185-94, college: Winthrop) replied with 25 points and 4 assists and center Wilhelm Koehler (206-88) added 13 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Dorsten. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dorsten's coach Franjo Lukenda rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Herford maintains second position in West with 6-2 record having just four point less than leader Leitershofen, which they share with Ibbenbueren. Loser Dorsten keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Herford will face Deutzer (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dorsten will play against Recklinghausen (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
