Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (3-1) won against 9th ranked HAKRO Merlins II (3-2) in Crailsheim 92-84 on Saturday. Saarlouis/Dillingen made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. HAKRO Merlins II was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bulgarian Filip Kamenov (200-95) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Croatian-Bosnian power forward Sandro Antunovic (207-98) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Trevon Evans (183-95, college: Sioux Falls) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for HAKRO Merlins II. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. HAKRO Merlins II's coach Marko Stankovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Saarlouis/Dillingen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in South-West. Loser HAKRO Merlins II dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Saarlouis/Dillingen will face Tuebingen II (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. HAKRO Merlins II will play against Kaiserslautern (#8) and hope to win that game.
