An interesting game was also home defeat of 6th ranked Dragons Rhoendorf in a game versus Herford (#2) 97-91. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dragons Rhoendorf. Herford forced 19 Dragons Rhoendorf turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) who scored that evening 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Omar Zemhoute (194-91) supported him with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Even 24 points and 6 rebounds by American swingman Curtis Hollis (198-98, college: Hutchinson CC) did not help to save the game for Dragons Rhoendorf. Naturalized Brazilian power forward Gabriel De-Oliveira (206-97) added 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for lost side. Four Herford and five Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. Herford maintains second position in West with 6-2 record having just four point less than leader Leitershofen, which they share with Ibbenbueren. Loser Dragons Rhoendorf dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Herford will meet Deutzer (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against Hertener Loewen (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
