Regular Season Round 4: Mannheim - Kronberg 71-63

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Mannheim (2-3) beat at home bottom-ranked Kronberg (0-4) 71-63 on Sunday. They outrebounded Kronberg 39-22 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. David Scheffels (200-96) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Mannheim's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Philip Hecker (190-2) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and American point guard Kewan Beebe (183-93, college: Geneseo St.) added 15 points in the effort for Kronberg. Mannheim moved-up to eighth place in South-West, which they share with Giessen and Kaiserslautern. Loser Kronberg still closes the standings with four games lost. Mannheim will face higher ranked Fellbach (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kronberg will play against BBU 01 Ulm (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
