The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Walter Tigers (3-1) on the court of top-ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by MLP Academics Heidelberg 95-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Walter Tigers. It was a key game for the top position in the league. MLP Academics Heidelberg made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. MLP Academics Heidelberg outrebounded Walter Tigers 29-18 including 19 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Walter Tigers' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Armin Trtovac (210-97) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Shyron Ely (193-87, college: Evansville, agency: Slash Sports) who added 21 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Justin Strings (201-96, college: Sacramento St.) responded with 20 points and center Enosch Wolf (215-90, college: Connecticut) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MLP Academics Heidelberg have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Jena and Bremerhaven. Walter Tigers at the other side keep the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with Chemnitz and Nuernberg. MLP Academics Heidelberg is looking forward to face league's leader Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Walter Tigers will play against Rostock and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
