Regular Season Round 4: Kirchheim - Schalke 75-80

Schalke has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Kirchheim, where they defeated Kirchheim Knights (0-4) 80-75. 26 personal fouls committed by Kirchheim Knights helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Center Adam Touray (208-94) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Schalke's coach Raphael Wilder used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Andreas Kronhardt (205-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Keith Rendleman (203-90, college: UNCW, agency: HMS) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Kirchheim Knights. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Schalke (1-2) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Rostock. It was Kirchheim Knights' fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Schalke's next round opponent will be higher ranked Chemnitz (#4) at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kirchheim Knights will play against Science City Jena (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
