Regular Season Round 3: Zalgiris II - Jonava 67-76

Very important is a home loss of Zalgiris II (2-1) against Jonava (1-2) on Thursday night. Host Zalgiris II was defeated by Jonava in a tough game in Kaunas 67-76. Strangely Zalgiris II outrebounded Jonava 44-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for international point guard Justas Vazalis (197-96) who led his team to a victory with 15 points. American forward Kahlil Thomas (203-94, college: Rider) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Jonava players scored in double figures. Vitalijus Kozys (201-99) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Zalgiris II. Zalgiris II's coach Arvydas Gronskis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jonava will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zalgiris II will play on the road against Silute (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
