We should mention about the upset which took place in Giessen, where Giessen 46ers (0-2) lost at home to Hamburg (1-2) 75-79 on Friday. Giessen 46ers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Dutch guard Yannick Franke (194-96) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. American Beau Beech (206-94, college: N.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Hamburg players scored in double figures. Hamburg's coach Mike Taylor allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Stephen Brown (180-96, college: Bucknell) who recorded 22 points and the other American import guard Teyvon Myers (188-94, college: WVU) added 17 points respectively. Hamburg will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#17) in Frankfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giessen 46ers will play on the road against Brose Baskets in Bamberg and hope to get finally their first victory.
