There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Fraport Skyliners II (2-2) defeated higher ranked FC Bayern II (2-2) in Frankfurt 68-62 on Saturday. Fraport Skyliners II forced 21 FC Bayern II turnovers. FC Bayern II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for center Aaron Kayser (205-99) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Bruno Vrcic (197-0) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) replied with 14 points and 4 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and Austrian Erol Ersek (193-99) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for FC Bayern II. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fraport Skyliners II moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated FC Bayern II. Fraport Skyliners II will face Loewen (#11) in Erfurt in the next round where they are favorite. FC Bayern II will play at home against the league's leader Speyer (#1) and hope to win that game.
