Regular Season Round 4: Suduva-Mantinga - Gargzdu 85-76

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Gargzdu (2-1) in Marijampole on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by top-ranked Suduva-Mantinga (3-0) 85-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gargzdu. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Suduva-Mantinga dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdu's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Justinas Jogminas (197-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. The former international power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Guard Ernestas Jonkus (187-99) replied with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and Tadas Poska (193-99) added 17 points in the effort for Gargzdu. Gargzdu's coach Albertas Vilimas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Suduva-Mantinga have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Gargzdu at the other side dropped to the fifth position with one game lost. They share it with Taurages. Suduva-Mantinga are looking forward to face Palanga (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gargzdu will play against the league's leader Silute (#1) and is hoping to win this game.
