Regular Season Round 4: Silales Lusis - Ezerunas 56-72

Ezerunas' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Rietavas, where they defeated Silales Lusis (0-4) 72-56 on Saturday. Ezerunas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Silales Lusis' 24. They outrebounded Silales Lusis 48-36 including a 43-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by swingman Rokas Jukonis (194-90) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Ignas Lukosius (202-93) supported him with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Four Ezerunas players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 4 assists by Mindaugas Cepauskas (186-89) did not help to save the game for Silales Lusis. Forward Valdas Undraitis (200-90) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Silales Lusis' coach Valdemaras Kasmauskas let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Ezerunas (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was Silales Lusis' fourth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with four games lost. Ezerunas will meet higher ranked Telsiai (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Silales Lusis will play against Taurages (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
