Regular Season Round 3: Vienna - Timberwolves 95-81

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vienna: Hallmann (#10) and Timberwolves (#8). Hallmann (1-2) won against visiting Timberwolves (0-3) 95-81. The game was mostly controlled by Hallmann. Timberwolves managed to win fourth quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hallmann shot 63.8 percent from the field. Hallmann outrebounded Timberwolves 41-24 including a 37-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists. American forward Brandon Conley (201-93, college: ORU) accounted for 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Five Hallmann players scored in double figures. Forward Peter Hofbauer (193-98) came up with 25 points and 6 rebounds and forward Philipp DAngelo (198-89) added 17 points respectively for Timberwolves in the defeat. Timberwolves' coach Hubert Schmidt rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hallmann will meet UBSC Graz (#10) on the road in the next round. Timberwolves will play against Gunners Oberwart and hope to get finally their first victory.
