Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Balikesir: Balikesir and Bandirma Kir. (#0). Despite it looked like an easy game for Balikesir, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. How else can you describe just 1 point victory of Balikesir 68-67. Balikesir forced 21 Bandirma Kir. turnovers. Strangely Bandirma Kir. outrebounded Balikesir 54-38 including 20 on the offensive glass. It was a very good performance for American point guard Myles Mack (178-93, college: Rutgers, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 7 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Guard Eray Akyuz (187-0) answered with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Furkan Haltali (207-2) added 8 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Bandirma Kir.Balikesir will face Gemlik (#14) in Bursa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bandirma Kir. will play at home against Final Spor (#3) and hope to win that game.
