An interesting game was played in Sofia where NSA crushed host Septemvri 97 with 21-point difference 67-46 on Saturday evening. NSA made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game, while Septemvri 97 only scored six points from the stripe. NSA forced 27 Septemvri 97 turnovers and had a 32-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when NSA made 7 blocks. The former international guard Zornitsa Naydenova (170-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 assists for the winners and swingman Maria Gencheva (185-99) chipped in 11 points, 19 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four NSA players scored in double figures. At the losing side Konstantina Kakogianni (176-1) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and center Kristina Zaharieva (183-2) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. NSA will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Septemvri 97's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sofia to the arena Champion 2006.
