Very expected game when 10th ranked Deutzer (2-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Ibbenbueren (6-2) 91-74 on Saturday. Ibbenbueren made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Bryce Leavitt (194-94, college: Seattle Pacific) stepped up and scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and American-Spanish guard Marco Porcher-Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) chipped in 25 points. Five Ibbenbueren players scored in double figures. Point guard Patrick Reusch (185-93) responded with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Florian Schulz (196-89) scored 10 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ibbenbueren. They moved-up to second place in West, which they share with Herford. Loser Deutzer dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Ibbenbueren will face BSV Wulfen (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Deutzer will play against Hagen-Haspe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
