Regular Season Round 4: Coburg - Elchingen 63-78

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Coburg (0-4) lost at home to fourth ranked Elchingen (3-1) 78-63 on Sunday. Elchingen made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Coburg turnovers and outrebounded them 35-22 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import forward CJ Oldham (203-91, college: Gannon) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Elchingen players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American forward Princeton Onwas (198-93, college: SJSU) replied with 25 points and British power forward Shore Adenekan (205-92, college: Seattle) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Coburg. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Elchingen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Baunach and Wuerzburg. Loser Coburg still closes the standings with four games lost. Elchingen will face league's second-placed Baunach at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Coburg will play against OrangeAcademy (#6) in Ulm and hopes to get finally their first victory.
