Regular Season Round 2: Vienna Utd. Post - Timberwolves 85-78

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Vienna: Flying Foxes (#5) and Timberwolves (#2). Flying Foxes (1-1) won against visiting Timberwolves (1-1) 85-78. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 21-16 Timberwolves' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 85-78 at the end of the game. Flying Foxes dominated on the defensive end, holding Timberwolves to just 5 points in first quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 75.0 percentage. Spanish guard Agueda Trujillo (180-95, college: Idaho) notched 25 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Lena Schonthaler (160-2) supported her with 23 points. Even 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds by swingman Petra Pammer (175-0) did not help to save the game for Timberwolves. Center Flora God (185-1) added 17 points and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the guests. Flying Foxes will play against Linz Wels (#6) in the next round. Timberwolves' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vienna Basket Flames.
