NKL top team - Silute (5-0) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat fifth ranked Gargzdu (2-2) 92-85. Silute looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Silute made 7 blocks. American guard Byron Sanford (182-93, college: Trevecca Naz.) stepped up and scored 27 points and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Omar Alston (203-97, college: Morehouse) chipped in 18 points and 13 rebounds. Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Jonas Dumasius (188-97) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Silute and five Gargzdu players scored in double figures. Silute have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Gargzdu at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with Ereliai Mazeikiai. Silute are looking forward to face Neptunas-Akv. (#3) in Klaipeda in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gargzdu will play at home against Telsiai (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
