There was an upset in Muenchen where second-ranked Regnitztal (4-2) was defeated by eighth ranked FC Bayern III (3-2) 76-68 on Friday. FC Bayern III forced 20 Regnitztal turnovers. Austrian Erol Ersek (193-99) stepped up and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and Sierra Leonean center Mohamed Sillah (204-2) chipped in 14 points and 15 rebounds. Nicholas Tischler (198-0) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Brandon Tischler (198-0) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Five FC Bayern III and four Regnitztal players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. FC Bayern III moved-up to sixth place in South-East, which they share with Bamberg. Regnitztal at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second position with two games lost. FC Bayern III will face Vilsbiburg (#8) on the road in the next round. Regnitztal will play against Bad Aibling (#12) and hope to win that game.
