Regular Season Round 3: Prometey - Khimik 83-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Khimik (4-1) in Kamianske on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Prometey (6-0) 83-72. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-72. Prometey outrebounded Khimik 44-29 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: UMES, agency: Network Sports International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Malique Trent (189-94, college: Hampton) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Prometey players scored in double figures. Forward Artem Kovalov (202-97, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and Nigerian power forward Avery Ugba (204-94, college: Austin Peay) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Khimik. Prometey are looking forward to face Kyiv Basket (#5) on the road in the next round. Khimik will play against Mykolaiv and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
