Regular Season Round 5: Koeln Rh.Stars - Hagen BG 111-82

Very expected game when 9th ranked Hagen BG (3-5) was crushed on the road by first ranked Koeln Rh.Stars (7-1) 111-82 on Saturday. Koeln Rh.Stars shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Tibor Taras (197-97) stepped up and scored 51 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners and forward Benedict Van-Laack (196-97) chipped in 15 points. Five Koeln Rh.Stars players scored in double figures. Koeln Rh.Stars' coach Johannes Strasser felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) responded with 20 points and guard Yannick Opitz (186-90) scored 20 points. Koeln Rh.Stars maintains first place in West with 7-1 record. Loser Hagen BG keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Koeln Rh.Stars will face ETB Wohnbau (#14) in Essen in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Hagen BG will play at home against Dorsten (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
