Regular Season Round 3: SumDU - DYUSH-DOR 113-71

There was no surprise in Sumy where DYUSH-DOR (1-3) was crushed by SumDU (2-0) 113-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. SumDU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to DYUSH-DOR's 26. SumDU forced 29 DYUSH-DOR turnovers and outrebounded them 46-35 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when SumDU made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was point guard Igor Starodub (187-97) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Igor Jurkevicius chipped in 21 points and 5 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Sergiy Miasoedov (190-94) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and center Pavlo Riazantsev (202-95) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four SumDU and five DYUSH-DOR players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. SumDU will face again DYUSH-DOR (#7) in Dnipro in the next round.
