There was an upset when higher ranked Giessen Pointers (2-3) were defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Stuttgart (1-4) 83-77 on Saturday. Stuttgart forced 23 Giessen Pointers turnovers. Giessen Pointers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Nick Mosley (203-88, college: Tarleton St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Simion Habtemichael (191-96) chipped in 26 points. Four Stuttgart players scored in double figures. American forward Tyrell Sturdivant (201-95, college: Stony Brook) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Lucas Mayer (183-99) scored 27 points. Giessen Pointers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Stuttgart left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place in South-West. Loser Giessen Pointers keep the eighth position with three games lost. Stuttgart will face higher ranked Tuebingen II (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
