Regular Season Round 6: Neptunas-Akv. - Silute 99-95

Top ranked Silute (6-0) recorded its 0th loss in Klaipeda on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Neptunas-Akv. (4-2) 99-95. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Silute. Neptunas-Akv. shot 60.3 percent from the field and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Neptunas-Akv. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Silute helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Klaidas Metrikis (204-0) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Tomas Gaidamavicius used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Omar Alston (203-97, college: Morehouse) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Byron Sanford (182-93, college: Trevecca Naz.) added 27 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv. have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Neptunas-Akv. went down to fifth position due to points difference. Silute at the other side still keeps top place with 0 game lost. Neptunas-Akv. are looking forward to face higher ranked Taurages (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Silute will play against Vytis and is hoping to win this game.
