Deutsche Bank Skyliners' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Hamburg (1-3) 83-78. Deutsche Bank Skyliners made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Hamburg turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 assists and the other American import guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) who added 14 points during the contest. Robertson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American Marshawn Powell (201-90, college: Arkansas, agency: HMS) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Heiko Schaffartzik (183-84) scored 16 points and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Hamburg and MBC. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against higher ranked ratiopharm Ulm (#10) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hamburg will play against Brose Baskets to get more than just one victory in their record.
