Regular Season Round 7: Nevezis - Neptunas 75-68

Bottom-ranked Nevezis managed to get a second victory. This time they won against seventh-ranked Neptunas in Kedainiai 75-68. It looked good early as Neptunas took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nevezis had a 28-15 second period charge getting the lead and Neptunas was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-75. It was an exceptional evening for DR Congolese center Viny Okouo (215-97) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Laurynas Beliauskas (192-97) accounted for 17 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Nevezis players scored in double figures. International power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Tadas Sedekerskis (203-98) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Neptunas in the defeat. Neptunas' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Nevezis (2-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Neptunas and P.Zvaigzdes. Neptunas lost their fourth game in a row. Nevezis will play against bottom-ranked Juventus (#10) in Utena in the next round. Neptunas will play on the road against P.Zvaigzdes (#7) in Pasvalys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
