Regular Season Round 5: Oradea - Arad 43-85

Undefeated leader Arad delivered the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Oradea (0-3) 85-43. The game without a history. Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Oradea's 22. Arad forced 31 Oradea turnovers and outrebounded them 29-18. Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) stepped up and scored 13 points and 5 assists for the winners and Serbian power forward Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Five Arad players scored in double figures. Point guard Ruxandra Chis (176-93) responded with 14 points and Montenegrin center Teodora Saric (190-98) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Arad maintains first place in Nationala with 2-0 record. Loser Oradea still closes the standings with three games lost. Arad will meet at home league's second-placed Cluj Napoca in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oradea will play against Targu Secuiesc and hopes to get finally their first victory.
